## A Perfect Match: Scrim's Innovative Journey
Scrim is the brainchild of Pleasant Balogun, who serves as the company's CEO and CTO. Pleasant founded Scrim at age 17 and have infused elements of the new generation (Gen Z) into the design, marketing and promotion of the App. Pleasant and his dynamic team initially designed the Scrim app as a social payment App powered by Chimoney’s API and Wallet Infrastructure, which  allows users to send money to individuals through their social media handles. It quickly garnered attention, both from the public and the Chimoney team and Uchi Uchibeke, Chimoney’s founder have collaborated with Pleasant since the inception of Scrim.

With Chimoney's acquisition of Scrim, Scrim's already impressive functionality is poised for substantial enhancement. The eagerly anticipated release of the new Scrim app is slated for December 2023. Here's a sneak peek of some of the outstanding features you can expect:

**1. Earning Opportunities:** In keeping with Chimoney’s commitement to economic empowerment, Scrim is going above and beyond standard transactions. Users will have the chance to earn effortlessly. **2. Global Real-Time Payments:** The Scrim app will empower users to send money to anyone in the world using just their email, phone number of Interledger Wallet Address (Payment Pointer). It will also empower **verified** Scrim users receive payments worldwide, regardless of their location. Recipients of Payment from Scrim can cash out their money locally exactly how they want it: to bank accounts in over 100 countries, Airtime, Mobile Money wallets in 17 countries, gift cards in 210 countries, cryptocurrencies in 7 blockchains, or even shop on platforms like Amazon and Shopify.

**3. Shop with Scrim Wallet Balance:** Users will have the convenience of shopping on Amazon and Shopify and paying with their Scrim balance, making online shopping more accessible and enjoyable. This unlocks access to over 500 million products right within the Scrim App.

**4. AI Capabilities:** Scrim users can enjoy personalized recommendations powered by AI. Approved Users can unlock additional earning opportunities by enhancing Scrim through the development and listing of prompt-based AI Apps.

The journey of a startup – like [Chimoney](http://chimoney.io/) can be full of challenges, from developing the initial idea to building a product, and then trying to get it into the market, with an ambitious goal to create a high impact globally. However, some programs can help startups navigate these challenges and bring their ideas to life. The Accelerator Center Studio Program (AC:Studio) is one such program that offers support and guidance to startups in their early stages. 

In September 20222, we at Chimoney were thrilled to be accepted and selected, amongst the other 100 businesses across southern Ontario, Canada, to join the program and receive up to $100,000 in seed funding. By participating in the  AC:Studio accelerator program, we get the amazing chance to work with innovation partners, learn from experts through mentorship sessions and training, and acquire essential market resources. What’s more, we will be participating in AC:Studio Innovation Showcase, happening on March 2, 2023, where we have an in-person Chimoney booth and the opportunity to network with liked-mined people.

The AC:Studio program was [launched in June 2022, with a $10 million Government of Canada investment through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)](https://www.acceleratorcentre.com/resources/news/the-accelerator-centre-launches-hybrid-venture-studio-program). Through AC:Studio, the Accelerator Centre will work with 100 early-stage companies across southern Ontario to provide up to $100,000 in critical seed funding, mentorship, and tactical support delivered through its ecosystem partnerships.

## **Chimoney’s experience at the AC:Studio Venture Program**
Joining AC:Studio has been a game changer for our startup. The program offers access to resources, mentorship, and a community of like-minded entrepreneurs and has given us the tools and knowledge necessary to turn our idea into a viable product. Through the program, we got feedback on our strategies from experienced professionals, who helped us fine-tune our idea and develop a clear strategy for bringing it to the market.

During the program, ChiHeroes (Chimoney’s employees) were driven to ask questions, be better, and be the best at their jobs. The program is designed to provide support in all areas, including business strategy, market research, branding, fundraising, product development, finance, operations, sales, and human resources management. Our team found the mentorship particularly valuable, as it gave us access to people globally with a wealth of experience in the industry. Their guidance and feedback helped us avoid mistakes and make the right decisions for our startup.
